This passion is reflected at Modify Home, where walls are adorned with works from local and regional artists.  Julia partners with her husband, Jack, who leads Modify Design|Build focusing on architecture and construction. Among others, their work has been featured in Atlanta Interiors, Atlanta Magazines HOME, and Kitchen & Bath by Consumer Reports. Lead Interior Designer

Stacy Milburn has a unique design perspective forged by travel, history, and art. She lived in London after finishing her undergraduate degree in International Business and Spanish. While in London, she lived nearby the Victoria and Albert Museum, spending hours there almost daily. This time deepened her passion for the history of decorative arts and classical architecture. Afterwards she moved to New York City. This provided another layer of her appreciation for architecture, while living in the midst inspired styles like art deco, art nouveau, and modernist. While in New York she formally pursued her affection for spaces, furniture, art and beauty while studying Interior Design at The New School (Parsons). In 2007 she relocated to Atlanta to follow her love of design, and worked for residential designer Lori Tippins.

Stacy carefully blends each client’s personal preferences and taste with her own unique vision. Stacy believes that every home has a story to tell, and only through its materials, furnishings and details does it become beautiful, comfortable and personal. Stacy is also an artist specializing in abstract mirror art. Her work has been featured in Atlanta Homes and Lifestyle and Modern Luxury Interior magazines. Stacy is a member of the Atlanta Design collective and is married to Nat Milburn. They have a blended family of five children, Jessica, Claire, Danielle, Jack and Alex.

Interior Designer

Chloe Burton is an interior designer who takes pride in her ability to transform spaces by bringing ideas and inspirations to life.  She loves earthy, vintage inspired pieces blended with more updated elements and is also adept in finding creative ways to help budget-conscious clients design their dream spaces.

Chloe received her Bachelor of Fine Art in Interior Design from Valdosta State University. When she is not inspiring living spaces at Modify Home, she enjoys giving new life to antique furniture and taking cool Instagram photos. She is a crazy dog lady (with 2 lovable pups!) that loves all things outdoors, as long as she can cool off in a close-by body of water. Chloe is coffee dependent (and proud!), and is in search of the perfect chunky guacamole.

Operations Manager

Jan Mitchell is the glue for our design team at Modify. With a degree in Business Management from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, she utilizes her organizational skills to create order in a complex workspace. Jan handles all purchasing, tracking, deliveries, vendor relationships… and is usually the best person to answer questions about the details and status of your purchase. An avid learner, she has evolved her design sensibilities and knowledge of furniture, rugs, lighting and art so that she may more effectively serve clients and customers.

Most days you can find her at Modify, but occasionally you can find her hiking up Kennesaw Mountain or exploring Atlanta for the best taco joints. Contrary to her schooling, she cheers for the Auburn Tigers (and even has an Auburn room in her house!).

In Store Designer

Meeting retirees from northern cities who were settling in the western mountains of North Carolina was the beginning of Sandy’s design and business experiences some years ago. Prospective clients were seeking a warmer climate with slower paced living, horses and golfing opportunities, but more importantly a lovely comfortable home to enjoy and entertain friends and family. Client projects consisted of new builds, renovation of vintage homes on estates, as well as sought after cabins and guest houses.

Sandy owned two businesses in the Carolinas – home furnishings and design shoppes. She decided to follow her passion to Atlanta – and never left!

Sandy’s love of color and beautiful fabrics has her often searching for that perfect blend of color and beauty… but at the top of her “to do” fun list are those very special moments two grandchildren. At other times she loves to antique, collect art and vintage drinkware, and share her baking delectables with friends and family.

Jack cut his teeth in construction while in high school and on breaks from college. He’s a graduate of Penn State University and is licensed in the state of Georgia to do residential and light commercial construction. His award-winning work has been featured in Consumer Reports’ Kitchen and Bath issue as well as Atlanta Home and Modern Luxury Interiors magazines.

When he’s not working he enjoys romping in the woods with his wife and daughter and their yellow lab, Anni.
